A tunnel known as "The Thieves Cave”, it is said that brigands, if pursued, were used to hide the stolen goods in this place and then recover them once freed from their pursuers. Legends are often based on truth and, probably, the cave was really used for some time by bandits.

Others says the tunnel was used to store snow during winter and then to be used, in the hot season, in the ice trade used mainly for refrigeration, but also for ice cream and sorbets.

What ever the truth behind its common use during the passed centuries, its a wonderful place to explore with our experienced qualified Mountain Leader who will provide all caving equipment needed such as helmets and torches to ensure a safe visit.
