An exceptional trip to Sicily to run the Etna Trail
From almost a decade of experience, with the first edition of the Eco trail of Linguaglossa dated August 2010, the idea was born of creating a unique trail event of its kind, the Ultra trail on the highest active volcano in Europe.

Excursions and activities during the Salomon Maxi Race Etna Trail
The Etna Trail is a sporting-competitive event now in its eleventh edition, which aims to promote our territory through sport. From this year the Etna K1 Vertical Kilometer is also part of the event. The event will take place on 29 and 30 July 2023, with departures from Piano Provenzana.
You arrive in Sicily for the races and you need transfers, accommodation and you want to know what to see in Sicily. We have selected the excursions and services suitable for your stay on the Etna volcano.
Companions can follow the athletes during the Etna Trail
Part of the route includes a visit to the craters of the 2002 eruption, or a helicopter flight over the area to see the top of Etna.
- The event consists of a trail running course on foot over a distance of 64 km, a 24 km course, a 14 km course and a 3 km mini-trail for children.

The helicopter flight starts from the coast of the Ionian Sea, flying over the routes of the "Etna Trail" race.
You will see the summit craters of Etna and complete a full tour of the volcano in approximately 20 minutes.
You will see by helicopter the top of Etna, the side craters and the famous "Valle del Bove" which runs along the eastern side of Etna.
Reservations are required at least 1 week in advance.
Flight may be affected by weather conditions and volcanic activity.
These natural events can change the flight plan.
The pilot chooses the best route accordingly.
The fares for the helicopter flight to Etna are €280 per person for a group flight, €1,200 in total for a private flight.
