For sale conditions for excursions on Etna and Stromboli
To participate in our excursions, you must be in perfect health, without any allergies of any kind, without cardiac, respiratory, pressure, bone and joint problems.
We need to know in advance (at the time of registration) if you need to take any medication, what medication, if you have any pathologies, allergies, intolerances of any kind.
The ascent of the volcano with Etna3340 is prohibited for pregnant women. For some excursions, there are age limits to participate.
If the guide deems that you are not prepared for this hike due to a physical and/or psychophysical problem, he may decide not to allow you to participate in the excursion (without the possibility of a refund).
If you arrive without the necessary equipment requested to do the excursion, the guide may decide not to allow you to participate (without the possibility of a refund).
The guide may vary the departure and return times, the itinerary, the maximum altitude, and the number of kilometers, depending on his assessments of the weather, the geodynamic situation of the volcano, and the conditions of the hiking trails on the day of the excursion.
We will provide an update about 24 hours before the excursion to evaluate the meteorological/geodynamic situation of the Etna and Stromboli volcanoes.
In the event of adverse meteorological/geodynamic conditions predicted 24 hours in advance, we can reschedule the excursion for another available date.
If you are unable to reschedule the date, we will refund the excursion (there is no refund for dinner, overnight stay, breakfast, and packed lunch at the accommodation facility).
We are on an active volcano, the gases produced by the summit craters can contribute to reducing visibility and this phenomenon is not predictable.
Weather forecasts remain predictions and we cannot guarantee that they are 100% reliable.
The definitive confirmation (or cancellation) and exact meeting time will be communicated approximately 24 hours before the excursion via email.
In the event of cancellation on our part, the amount paid will be refunded (there is no refund for dinner, overnight stay, breakfast, and packed lunch at the accommodation facility).
Depending on the volcanic activity, weather conditions, and snowfall, we may modify the excursion's hours/duration/kilometers, change the Etna side to visit, modify the entire itinerary, and not reach the maximum altitude described.
You can cancel and be refunded without charge up to 1 week before the excursion for group excursions, 1 month in advance for private excursions, 1 month in advance for the excursions: "Etna 24H", "Etna & Wine", the packages "Clan dei Ragazzi/Rifugio Citelli Serracozzo", "Clan dei Ragazzi/Rifugio Citelli Sartorius", "Locanda Milia", and "Villa Dorata".
If you book packages that include a stay at Rifugio Citelli, Clan dei Ragazzi, Villa Dorata, Terra dei Sogni, Rifugio Santa Barbara, or Locanda Milia: in the event of excursion cancellation, only the cost of the excursion will be refunded, not the entire amount that concerns dinner, overnight stay, breakfast, packed lunch, and lunch (the non-refundable amount is €100 per person, which concerns adults and/or children of any age).
The maximum altitude that can be reached depends on the conditions of the path (snow coverage, presence of pyroclastic material), meteorological conditions (wind, fog, rain, lightning, or thunderstorm risk), and geodynamics of Etna on the day of the excursion (conditions that can vary even during the day).
In group excursions, you must adapt to the slowest person. Therefore, it is not guaranteed that you will reach the maximum altitude and kilometers described.
In private excursions, with the guide only for you, you can adjust the walking pace and schedule to your athletic abilities (while respecting the guide's choices regarding safety, route, kilometers, and maximum altitude that can be reached).
Transfer from Chalet Clan dei Ragazzi (Etna Nord) to the trek starting point (Rifugio Citelli) is not included in the price. To cover the 6.3 km, you must have your own means of transportation.
Transfer from Locanda Milia or Villa Dorata (Etna Sud) to the trek starting point (Cantoniera) is not included in the price. To cover the 7.3 km, you must have your own means of transportation. There are no public buses, and the guide does not offer taxi service.
Dogs are not allowed on excursions, on helicopter flights, or in accommodation facilities on the volcano.

High hiking boots are mandatory to participate in excursions on Mount Etna
If you do not have them, you must purchase or rent them. The rental price for hiking boots is €5 per pair with Etna3340. Please provide me with your sizes (women and men) no later than 24 hours before the excursion. The guide will bring you the shoes on the day of the excursion. During the excursion, you will walk on fine and deep volcanic sand. In some places (especially downhill), your feet will sink into the volcanic sand up to your ankle. For this reason, low trail shoes are only allowed when used with gaiters. High hiking boots are only allowed when used with gaiters or mid-calf socks. The guide will explain how to use them. When you tell me your shoe size (women/men), please consider one size larger than your usual size.
Necessary equipment not included
Gaiters or mid-calf socks (to limit volcanic sand from getting into your shoes). Hiking pants, sweater/fleece, warm windproof and waterproof jacket with a hood, gloves, hat, cap to protect your head from the sun, sunscreen, sunglasses. Prepare in advance a picnic and water (1.5 liters per person), it is not necessary to prepare a picnic and water if you take the package at Clan dei Ragazzi, Rifugio Citelli, Villa Dorata or Locanda Milia. If you arrive without the necessary equipment requested for the excursion, the guide may decide not to allow you to participate (with no possibility of a refund).
Satisfaction guaranteed or your money back
If you are not completely satisfied with the service provided or feel that you did not get your money's worth: in that case, I offer to redo the experience on the first available day or partially refund the money spent. Obviously, volcanic activity and weather are sometimes unpredictable. The guide may decide not to reach the maximum altitude and number of kilometers described in the chosen circuit for reasons related to Etna's weather/geodynamics or the participants' sporting level and equipment.

The pilot will choose the optimal route based on these conditions.
The day before the flight, we will contact you to check the weather and geodynamic activity of the volcano.
**Confirmation and Cancellation**
Final confirmation (or cancellation) and the departure time will be communicated to you 24 hours before the flight via email or phone.
In case of cancellation on our part, the amount paid will be fully refunded.
**Group Flights**
For group flights, please note that if the minimum number of participants (min. 4) is not reached for the desired date, you will have the option to book the next available date.
If you cannot change the date, we will provide a full refund.
**Adverse Conditions**
In case of adverse weather or geodynamic conditions predicted 24 hours in advance, we may reschedule the flight to another available date.

**Operations on an Active Volcano**
We operate on an active volcano, meaning gas emissions from the summit craters can affect visibility, and this phenomenon is unpredictable.
Weather forecasts are still predictions and cannot be guaranteed 100%.
If, after takeoff, the weather conditions are unfavorable and it is not possible to reach or see the summit area of Etna, the flight plan will be modified to include: Taormina, Castelmola, Isola Bella (Naxos), the Castello of Castiglione di Sicilia, the Gorges of Alcantara, and the Castello of Calatabiano.
**Customer Cancellation Policy**
Any cancellation by the client will be subject to the following cancellation fees:
- Free cancellation before 31 days.
- Cancellation from 9 to 30 days before the flight: 30% penalty.
- No-show or cancellation from 1 to 8 days before the flight: 100% penalty.

To participate in our flights, it is essential to be in perfect health, without allergies or cardiac, respiratory, blood pressure, bone, or joint problems.
Please inform us in advance (at the time of booking) if you are taking any medications, specifying which ones, and if you have any medical conditions, allergies, or intolerances of any kind.
Flights are not recommended for pregnant women and children under 6 years old.
The helicopter cabin is not pressurized, and altitude is quickly gained and descended.
It is important to consider the significant pressure difference on the eardrums, especially for children and in case of respiratory system inflammation.
We advise consulting your doctor to determine if the helicopter flight is suitable for your condition.
If the pilot deems you unfit to fly due to a physical or psychological issue, he may decide to refuse you access to the flight, with no possibility of a refund.
