From the 13th to 15th of April 2018 : the 38th festival of the violet artichoke in Niscemi.
A farming and craft festival in this little town in the province of Caltanisetta. This town is famous for the view of the Gela plain and the valley of the Maraglio river. This farming and craft festival is the main income of Niscemi, that’s why the festival is part of a tradition in this town named “ the capital of artichoke ”. Last year, 80,000 people attended this festival.
Thanks to this fair, craft makers have the opportunity to exhibit their crafts. The festival is the time for tasting artichoke cooked in different ways, discover the local traditions, explore the town and for anyone who wants to visit the nature reserve of Sughereta close to Niscemi.
